Vita
Frank Steinbach holds a PhD in physics, is a German and European Patent Attorney, US patent agent, and is qualified to represent clients before the future Unified Patent Court. At Zimmermann & Partner, Frank mainly works in the technical fields of medical products, power engineering, and measurement and testing technology. For his clients, Frank develops complex portfolio strategies which effectively combine prosecution, invalidation (opposition and nullity) and litigation proceedings. Further to his patent work, Frank is an expert in trademark and design matters (both national and international), in particular in product piracy and counterfeiting cases. Frank also lectures on IP law at the Faculty of Design of the University of the Arts in Berlin.
Frank studied physics in Frankfurt and Göttingen. He also obtained a PhD in physics while working at the Max-Planck-Institute for Flow Dynamics in Göttingen where he focused on nonlinear systems, in particular nanostructures.
