Christian (Chris) Klein holds a diploma in Technical Physics and is a qualified German and European Patent Attorney. At Zimmermann & Partner, Chris is particularly active in the technical fields of electrical engineering, renewable energy technologies, combustion engines, semiconductor technology, and medical engineering. Having over ten years of experience in the IP field, he represents clients in examination, opposition and appeal proceedings regarding patent and utility model matters before the German and European patent offices, and before the German Federal Patent Court. Furthermore, he represents clients in litigation proceedings before the German National Courts.

Chris studied physics at the Technical University of Munich, specializing in the field of analytics using time-of-flight laser mass spectrometry. After his degree, he held a research assistant position at the Physics Department of the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). During his professional career, Chris worked as a journalist in the field of CAD, 3D computer graphics and digital media. He held a position as a product manager at the technology branch of a leading German media corporation, responsible for software applications for interactive digital TV and streaming media.
